2.5D Puzzle Narrative Game that Focuses on a Romantic Reconnection
Light Narrative Puzzle Game: Conceptualized and developed a narrative-driven puzzle game for Global Game Jam 2022. We wanted to craft a gameplay experience that reflects the complexities of relationships, challenging players to navigate both characters' perspectives and their intertwined destinies.
Contributions:
Artist - Created all UI elements in-game. Collaborated with other artists to design the tile sets used in-game. Prototyped and drew the initial cutscene.
Project Lead - Conceptualized and developed a narrative-driven puzzle game in 2 days for Global Game Jam 2022 while leading a team of 6 members. We won Best Overall and Best Visuals at NYU GGJ 2022.
Game Designer - Designed a unique dual-world structure, with a vibrant 'Rainbow World' reflecting one character's memories and a 'Black and White World' symbolizing the other character's spiritual journey. I co-designed the game mechanics and levels (implemented an innovative tile-swapping mechanic), enabling players to alter paths within two similar maps; a path that one can travel might symbolize an obstacle for the other. Created the narrative backstory of the game.

Global Game Jam 2022 was going to be one of the first projects that Silverjay Studio will participate in as a group. I initially convinced all our members to join as a team exercise, helping each other understand what we excel in. In under 2 days, we needed to focus on our strengths as narrators and artists; therefore, I decided to focus our game on visuals. Using simple yet innovative mechanics, smooth UX, and a lighthearted background track, we tried to appeal to the player experience instead of complex mechanics or plots. We understand that a good game jam game needs the player to feel in control within those few minutes of gameplay; therefore, we narrowed our scope and focused on making a stress-relieving game easy to understand.
